A Competitive application consists of:
- Choosing the right Medical School – As you can only apply to 4 medical colleges through UCAS, selection of colleges becomes very important keeping in mind the number of seats for the international students, tuition fee, the minimum required grades in a specific curriculum and the UKCAT/BMAT score requirements.
- Excellent High School Grades – Minimum A*AA-AAA in A Levels, 36-38 points in IB and 85-90% in the Indian Curriculum or perfect score in 3 AP Subjects (Bio and Chemistry are compulsory across all the curriculums)
- UKCAT/BMAT – Choose and prepare for the right test based on your target colleges.
- Work Experience – Shadow at least two doctors in two different clinics or hospitals.
- Community Service and Volunteer Experience – Show empathy and interest in helping people within or outside your community.
- Show Leadership and interpersonal skills through your extra-curricular activities and different positions you hold in school.
- Sign-up for additional online or summer programs to enhance your academic profile
- Non Native speakers should take IELTS and score a minimum of 7.5 overall with no less than a 7 in each section.
- Personal Statement – Write a winning personal statement to show your interest and talent
- Recommendation Letter – Ask your school teacher or counselor to send a recommendation letter highlighting your achievements with predicted grades.
- UCAS Application and Buzz Word – Ask your school counselor for your school Buzz word and create a UCAS application, if your school doesn’t have the buzzword use an official email ID.
- Multi Mini Interviews – MMI’s are an important part of the medical college admission process.
